Unravel Secrets Behind the Development of My Games

A More Enjoyable and Insightful Experience Than the Average, Pathetic, "famous" Archive

Throughout the development of Marrow, a variety of powerful hidden tools were utilized, such as a free camera and cheat menu, to streamline workflows and boost efficiency.

During the development of Dream Land, a range of hidden dev options and cheats were employed to simplify workflows and improve overall development efficiency.

In the creation of Aversion, several concealed development tools; including a free camera and unused environments were implemented to streamline testing and enhance workflow efficiency.

Let's dive in to Marrow's development journey!

Hidden debug menus were implemented during the development of Marrow to streamline workflows, test features efficiently, and accelerate iteration. These tools played a crucial role in optimizing the development process behind the scenes.

Debug Mode Accessibility

After extracting the DevMode.zip archive you will find two files MarrowDevMode.reg and MarrowRetMode.reg

  • MarrowDevMode.reg file: Activate the in-game development tools. Right-click on the file, then select 'Merge' on the context menu, then click 'Yes' to register it.

  • MarrowRetMode.reg file: Deactivates development tools. Right-click on the file, then select 'Merge' on the context menu, then click 'Yes' to register it.

The following images clearify the steps

Once you registered the MarrowDevMode.reg file simply type 'dev' using your keyboard or 'LS/RS' Button on your Xbox controller to show or hide Debug Options in Pause Menu

Debug Master Menu: A huge and powerful menu that controls most of the game elements

The debug master menu includes an extensive set of tools for development and testing, such as lighting and camera adjustments to tweak light intensity, angles, shadows, FOV, depth, clipping planes, and even rain intensity. Environmental controls simulate wind, rain, and atmospheric effects with parameters like turbulence, frequency, and radius. Player and physics settings allow you to enable invincibility, modify health, toggle gravity or collision, and teleport the player anywhere in the scene. Inventory management lets you instantly give or remove items like keys, gems, weapons, and secrets, adjust item counts, or unlock all game chapters. Character customization options switch skins and visuals for Marrow's hair, face, clothes, and more. Game state control includes options to delete all data, unlock the game, enable unlimited butterflies, or even trigger game-over scenarios like "Kill Marrow." Debug and visual tools allow toggling debug info, activating post-processing views, adjusting shader smoothness, or controlling flare intensity and many of fast-gain-access options.
